We Trust In The Name Of The Lord Our God

"Some trust in Chariots and some horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." Psalm 20:7 NIV Bible

God likes to talk to me using songs and scripture. These are the words that I woke up to this morning. They really encouraged me. I am trying to start a business and run a non profit, while working part time. I have felt very inadequate for these tasks. That is a good thing. I can't trust in my assets. I have to trust in God.
Here is an example of his provision. For the last two days, when I was very busy, God has inspired me to fix simple and delicious dinners that I "happened" to have the ingredients for. Then when I went to Curves to exercise, a lady on the circuit with me just "happened" to tell me an important piece of information that I needed to hear. We are complete in God. When we are weak God is strong. Part of me wants to be a super woman. Instead, God made the two of us a super team. He didn't give me the chariots or the horses. He gave me the name of the Lord our God. With God on our team we can't do anything but win. In fact we are more than conquerors.

State of Being

"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands." Isaiah 49:15-16a NIV Bible
You are God's beloved. This is a state of being. It is not based on what others think of you. It is not based on what you think of yourself. You can't do anything to make yourself less loved by him. His love for you is something that you can always depend on. God is love. He has engraved you on the palms of his hands. He delights in you. You are the apple of his eye. Our temptation is to decide we aren't lovable because of how we see ourselves or how man is responding to us. Turn from this lie. Walk in this truth with dignity and joy. If God says that you are lovable, then this is the truth. Know this truth and you will be set free.

And The Father Will Dance

And the Father will dance as on a day of joy,
He will rejoice over you and renew you by his love. (Carey Landry)

Yesterday, was so hard! I woke up, this morning, and every song God brought to mind was about hoping in him. Then came, THE FATHER WILL DANCE, by Carey Landry. The part that jumped out was, "He will rejoice over you and renew you by his love." He is asking me to hope in him and telling me that he loves me. He is rejoicing over me. It is his love that is renewing me. It's a new day but it's God's love that renews me for this day. His mercies are new every morning.
I don't know what went wrong yesterday, it was like a bomb exploded right in the middle of my day. My emotions plummeted and it left me incapable of doing anything productive. I exercised, prayed, got prayed for, ate right. Nothing shook the darkness that surrounded me like a suffocating fog. As I write this, a scripture comes to mind that says that nothing can separate us from the love of God.(Romans 8:35-39) God's love was there through it all.
So it's not a surprise that this morning he is renewing me by his love. I am so aware that God is not accusing or condemning. He isn't even pointing out where I went wrong. His mercy is here and he is renewing me by his love. Thank you God for your loving kindness that is better than life.

Be Imitators of God

"Be imitators of God therefore, as dearly loved children." Ephesians 5:1 NIV Bible
Jesus did what his Father was doing, so I guess it makes sense that we would do the same. I remember a vision I had once. God was doing a dance that I was trying to copy. I just couldn't get it. Then I started focusing on God himself, and the dance came. I just automatically began doing it.God reminds us that we need to have our eyes on him and not on being good. Then, and only then, can we be true imitators of God. So today, as you go about your day, pause now and then and ask God, "What are you doing now?"

Our Purpose For Existence

Our purpose for existence is to be loved by God. One day when I was super depressed, I just didn't understand why we exist. I had always thought I was here on planet earth to do some great work. Well, in my depressed state, I was pretty much just surviving. No good works were coming from me.
I thought of a man that was really strange and had no friends and wondered why he existed. I thought of my mother in law with Alzheimer's disease. She couldn't take care of herself in anyway. What was her reason for being here. At this point I was sobbing. "God," I cried out, "what is our purpose for existing?"
Then I heard God's sweet, gentle answer that changed my life forever. "You were made to be loved by me. If all you do is sit on my lap and let me tell you how much I love you, I will be pleased with your life."
